Production process:

The Tamaynoute cooperative’s argan oil production process combines manual and mechanical labor. A hybrid method combines traditional artisanal techniques with modern tools to optimize production while preserving the quality of the final product.

Fruit harvesting
The fruit of the Argan tree is harvested in June, July and August, manually as it falls naturally from the tree, or as it is picked. This work is done by hand to respect the nature of the harvest.
Fruit drying
The fruit is spread out in the sun to dry naturally, and once dry, the pulp is removed using machines designed to separate it from the kernel.
Kernel extraction (manual work)
This stage is still carried out by hand, as the argan kernels must be carefully broken. Adherent women use stones to break the hard shells without damaging the kernels inside. This step is carried out with great precision and care to preserve the quality of the argan almonds.
Manual sorting
Sorting the argan almonds is an essential intermediate stage. It consists of a careful selection of only the best quality almonds.
Mechanical pressing
Once the argan almonds have been extracted, they are roasted to produce edible oil, or preserved raw for cosmetic oil. They are then crushed and cold-pressed using modern mechanical machinery, 80% of which is solar-powered, to ensure fast, efficient and environmentally friendly extraction.
Decanting
The oil obtained after pressing the almonds undergoes decantation for at least 3 days , to separate the remaining oil from the almonds, which takes the form of a paste.
Mechanical filtration
The crude oil obtained is filtered using modern mechanical filters to remove impurities. These machines guarantee pure oil while reducing processing time.
Mechanical bottling
The oil is bottled using machines to guarantee a hygienic, uniform and rapid process
