«Tamaynout, an eco-responsible cooperative »
The production of argan oil by the Tamaynout cooperative is based on a process fully aligned with principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability. From harvesting to extraction and distribution, every step is designed to preserve local ecosystems while supporting rural communities.
The argan tree grows naturally in wild areas or uncultivated land, with no human intervention in its cultivation. Argan fruits are harvested by hand, minimizing the use of heavy machinery, reducing the carbon footprint and preserving the health of the trees. This method also enables more precise harvesting, as the fruit is carefully selected without damaging the rest of the tree.
During the production phase, the women crush the argan nuts by hand to obtain the argan fine, known locally as “znin”, which is the main ingredient in oil production. Cold-pressing technology is used to extract the argan oil, with machines powered by 90% solar energy, reflecting the cooperative's commitment to innovation in the context of sustainable development. To support this trend, Tamaynoute has financed this solar energy project worth over 70 KMAD , with the aim of reducing electricity consumption and promoting the use of clean energy sources.
In addition, the Tamaynoute cooperative pays great attention to health and social support, reflecting its overall commitment to improving living conditions and promoting sustainability in all aspects of its work.
